Connecting Slack

Last updated: June 29, 2026

Connect Slack so Highlight can search and reference your Slack messages and channels — helping you find context, summarize conversations, and pull in details without leaving Highlight.

Set up the integration

  1. Open Highlight and go to Settings.

  2. In the left sidebar, under Connections, select Integrations.

  3. Under Add Integrations, find Slack and click the + button on its card.

  4. A Slack sign-in window opens. Sign in to the account you want to connect.

  5. Review the access Highlight requests, then click Approve (or Authorize).

  6. You’ll be returned to Highlight automatically. Slack now appears under Active Integrations.

What you can do once connected

  • Search across messages and channels you have access to.

  • Reference threads and conversations as context for your work.

Heads up:  If your account is managed by an employer (a work or enterprise plan), an administrator may need to approve Highlight before you can connect. If you see an “approval required” message, see Integrations and Admin Approval for what to send your admin.

Manage or disconnect

Open the menu on the Slack card under Active Integrations to reconnect or remove the integration at any time.
