What are Skills and how do they work

Skills are reusable instructions that teach Highlight to do a task the way you want, the same way every time. Some come pre-configured in the app, you can fork those to add customization, or build custom skills from scratch.
Default Skills
Highlight ships with Default Skills you can use right away. There are skills that help every role within a company, such as a daily brief and daily recap skill. Additionally, there are specialized skills tailored to your functional role, such as interview feedback for a recruiter.
Default Skills are maintained and updated by the Highlight team, and they’re optimized for the task at hand. To tailor a Default Skills, navigate to the skill settings within your app and add your preferences. The skill continues receiving Highlight's improvements while following your customization preferences. This is the recommended way to customize a Default Skill.

Forked Skills ⑂
If you need to change a skill to better match your workflow more accurately, you can fork the skill. A forked skill is your own copy, and is yours to fully manage in the future, so it won't receive future Highlight updates automatically. Forked skills show with a visual indicator ⑂ Forked.
Reset a Forked Skill: You can tell a skill is forked when a "Reset to Default" option appears under Advanced. To revert a Forked Skill to a Default Skill, scroll to the bottom of your Skill Settings and select Reset which reverts your skill to the default settings. You will always retain Your Preferences, so double check that they match your desired state.
When a Skill runs
A skill can run when you want it to: during meetings, as a suggestion in chat, at a time of day, or on an app event. Use app-event triggers sparingly, since frequency drives usage and cost.
