Meeting Features: Summaries, Notepad and Transcripts
Last updated: September 4, 2026
Highlight seamlessly provides you with meeting summaries in addition to live and post-call transcripts.
Transcripts
During a meeting, you have access to a live transcript that provides some very useful features to make the most of your meetings. In real-time, Highlight is providing a transcript of the call, labeled by each individual speaker. If Highlight is unable to detect the speaker's name, it will default to a generic name such as "Speaker 1" or "Mic - A", which indicates that Highlight was unable to identify the speaker's name.
If you would like to edit the speaker's name, simply hover over the name, and either type or select the speaker's name from the pre-filled list. Once you rename the speaker, the renaming will carry through the rest of the transcripts.
For completed meetings, the transcript portion of the summary will have the same features as you have in a live meeting context.
Meeting Summary
Once a meeting ends, Highlight auto-generates a meeting summary. It organizes the summary in multiple ways including by topics covered or speaker, and groups the update according to the owner. In the side panel, you can easily copy the entire summary with just one click to be shared more widely, or copy specific sections for follow up.
Notepad
During a live meeting or after it's completed, you have access to a notepad, where you can jot down action items, questions, or topics that you care about. The contents of the Notepad are not used to create a meeting summary.
Ready For You
Following a meeting, this is where you'll find the actions that Highlight has drafted for you. Within a meeting, this mirrors what you'll find in the For You section of the side panel, so if you take the action in either location it will resolve in the other. As always, you can choose to take the action or archive it if it's not relevant.
Should find a prepared action extremely helpful or unhelpful, please use the 👍 or 👎 rating and provide some detail. Our Engineering team looks at these reports to determine how well the app is performing.
Chat
If you have questions about a meeting, what was covered, or who said what, switch over to the chat feature. You can ask questions, receive answers, and go deeper on the content of the meeting.
