Creating Custom Skills
Last updated: September 4, 2026
Custom Skills are a great way to use Highlight’s help in completing repetitive tasks.
You can create a skill two ways:
Ask in chat. Describe what you want, or say "turn this into a skill," and Highlight builds it. Chat is often the fastest path. Work through the task with Highlight first, then save the result as a skill.
From Settings. Open Skills and create one directly. This is a more advanced method, and you should use this approach if you're comfortable writing detailed instructions yourself.
Customize Skill Settings
When you create a Custom Skill, there are a number of settings you can adjust that tailor the skill to your needs
Run during meetings will surface the skill during your meetings and will trigger based on the events or customization settings that you add to the Skill.
