What is Chat

Chat is where you talk to Highlight. Ask a question, run a skill, draft an action, or think something through. Because Highlight already has context on what you're working on and across your connected tools, you can skip the setup and get straight to the point.

Start a chat

Type in the chat bar at the bottom of the panel and press enter. Highlight answers using the context it has about your work, so you rarely have to explain the background. You can initiate a chat from the home panel, or from within any element such as a meeting summary or action that's ready for your review.

What you can do in chat

  • Ask questions. Anything from "what did I commit to in that meeting?" to a quick draft or explanation.

  • Run skills. Type / to pull up your skills and shortcuts, then pick one.

  • Attach History. Type @ to reference context search, plugins, skills & shortcuts

  • Create a new skill. Use chat as your thinking partner to perfectly hone a new skill.

  • Draft actions. Ask Highlight to prepare an email, a message, or a next step. You review it before anything happens.

  • Attach context. Click the attachment icon to see your open windows and docs, then add the ones you want Highlight to focus on. The clear-attachments icon removes whatever you've staged.If it's on your screen, Highlight can see it and use the context as it responds to you. The context you add can come from many sources.

Handy controls

  • Expand. Pop chat out into a larger window with the expand icon.

  • Start an audio note. The audio icon begins an audio note right from chat.

  • Share a conversation. Copy link turns the conversation into a shareable link, and you can revoke it later if you no longer want it accessible.

  • Give feedback. Thumbs up or down on any response tells Highlight what's working, so your results improve over time.

  • Choose the model. Highlight defaults to the best model for the task and picks behind the scenes. Override it when you want a specific one.
