Integration troubleshooting
Last updated: June 29, 2026
Most integrations connect in seconds: you click the + on the integration card, sign in, approve the connection, and Highlight does the rest. If something doesn’t work, find your symptom below.
The sign-in window won’t open or closes immediately
Make sure pop-ups aren’t blocked for Highlight, then click the + again.
Confirm you’re online and try once more.
Quit and reopen Highlight, then retry.
“Approval required” or the connection is blocked
This means your organization requires an administrator to approve the app first. Highlight can’t bypass this — your admin has to grant approval.
Reach out to your IT or workspace admin and ask them to approve Highlight.
Send them the one-pager in Integrations and Admin Approval so they have everything they need.
Connected, but no data appears
Give it a moment — the first sync can take a little time after connecting.
Confirm you signed in with the right account (see below).
For Notion, check that you shared the relevant pages or databases during sign-in. Reconnect and adjust sharing if needed.
For calendars, make sure the specific sub-calendars are checked under Connected Calendars.
You may only see content you personally have permission to access in the source app.
You connected the wrong account
Open the ⋮ menu on the integration card (or the connected account, for calendars).
Remove the connection.
Sign out of that service in your browser if needed, then reconnect with the correct account.
Access stopped working after a while
Connections can expire — for example, if you changed your password or your organization’s security policy revoked access. Remove the integration and connect it again to refresh access.
Calendar events are missing or out of date
Click the refresh icon next to Connected Calendars to sync immediately.
Confirm the calendar containing those events is checked.
Check that the event lives on a connected account, not one you haven’t added yet.
Still stuck?
If none of the above resolves it, remove and re-add the integration as a clean reset. If the problem continues, contact Highlight support with the integration name and a description of what you’re seeing.
